Car Washes

The car wash is a mythical symbol of a certain era in the United States-this was illustrated by the 1976 disco hit dedicated to these facilities. If every car-owner had to wash their own car by hand, there would be many a dirty automobile on the road. This is where the car wash comes in, making it more convenient and faster to clean your car.

The car wash can take on many forms, the three main categories of which are: the self-service car wash, the conveyor belt, and the "in-bay automatics" system. The first is quite straightforward-not unlike a self-service gas station, one pays in coin for timed usage of the car wash facilities. These facilities include a scrubber, a jet of water which can be soapy if required, and a vacuum cleaning system to take care of upholstery. This car wash is also known as a "manual" system-the work is done by hand, but can be more precise than in an automatic car wash.

The conveyor belt system is a quite common type of car wash-it brings your car through a series of washing check points where it is soaped up, brushed down, and then finally rinsed of all cleaning products. This car wash can also apply wax if you request it-leaving your vehicle shiny as it dries. The water jets in this style of car wash (as well as in the "in-bay automatics" model) are directed from all angles at the car-to spray off any excess dirt gathered in hard-to-reach places such as the bottom of the car.

The "in-bay automatics" system is a slight variation on the conveyor belt car wash-your vehicle remains stationary while the washing occurs in much the same fashion as in the conveyor belt car wash. You can choose various levels of control by picking any given type of car wash-your car will look superb after it has been thoroughly cleaned.
