Car Stereos
Car stereos have become of central importance for many drivers who appreciate music while behind the wheel. In many urban circles, the quality of car stereos will define the quality of the people who own them. Indeed, car stereos and the social hierarchy of the urban setting are intermingled in many cases, if not entirely correlated. The focus, in this case, would be on having car stereos that can produce high-definition sound at an elevated volume level-"big bass."
Building a layered system is important-subwoofers are needed for the lows, tweeters for the highs, and mid-range speakers for obvious reasons. These elements are what differentiate low quality car stereos from their upper echelon cousins. Good car stereos will come with a CD deck built into them, as well as a couple of RCA wires for any auxiliary music source (such as an IPOD or portable DVD player.) This will ensure that no matter which format you choose, your music will sound great coming through your car stereo.
New car stereos, these days, come with an LCD display capable of informing you about what music is playing, allowing you to browse your music, and playing animations for your visual pleasure. Indeed, modern car stereos are starting to resemble the offspring of science fiction-we build our future based on what we think our future should look like. No wonder many car stereos are starting to look like the command deck on Star Trek's "Enterprise."
The important part of shopping for car stereos is the quality of sound you will be able to get out of them-always put quality before flashiness. Animations and bright LEDs mean nothing if your car stereo is unable to produce high volume, high bass output without distortion. When purchasing one, remember what car stereos are about: the music.
