Build Your Own Car

Among the many web sites of authority car manufacturers, I have choosen BMW and tried ‘Build Your Own Car‘. Prices are changing regarding my choices. That is fun.

Steps of Build Your Own Car are very easy and fun:

  • You can view front, rear and interior in 360° while creating your own model.
  • Select a model of the manufacturer to start. I choose BMW and the new screen came ‘Build Your Own 2012 550i Gran Turismo‘.
  • Exterior is the top left category here. You can choose among metallic and non-metallic colors. I choose Damask Red Metallic.
  • Interior is the second category. I choose Fineline Matte Wood trim and Ivory White and Black Nappa Leather for my interior.
  • Packages are inside the third category. Choose among the packages regarding your needs. You will see the prices of each package. I choose Driver Assistance Package priced $3500 including Head-up Display, Active Blind Spot Detection, Side and Top View Cameras, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic high beams and Luxury Seating Package priced$1.500 including Active front seats, Front ventilated seats, Power side window shades.
  • The forth category is Options including Convenience Options, Entertainment Options and Safety Options. I selected all of these features. These include: Integral Active Steering ($1750), Head-up Display($1,300), Heated front seats($500), Comfort Access key-less entry($1,000), Ceramic Controls($650), Active Cruise Control($2,400) Ski bag, Satellite radio with 1 year subscription($350), Rear-seat entertainment ($2,200), BMW Apps($250),Side and Top View Cameras($800), Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection. 
  •  Accessories are the fifth category here. BMW Apple iPhone Media / BMW APPS Version Snap In Adapters is the technology option I choose while BMW Coat Hanger($58), BMW Rubber Floor Mats($93) and BMW Carpeted Floor Mats are interior options. As the last choice of accessories, I choose the both of the Vehicle Programs, BMW Maintenance Program Upgrade($2,495) and BMW Assist Convenience Plan($199).

They offer choices now: I can apply for financing, estimate payment, get a quote and download the brochure. The Total MSRP as Built is $87,728. Price will increase with the insurance and other offers. A suite of premium benefits that are included at no cost with all new BMW Vehicles.
